Acreage off Highway 225A in northwest Marion county.  The new farm encompasses 78 rolling acres of lush bahia, and bermuda grass in large well shaded pastures, where horses benefit from the added exercise space, limestone enriched soil and water, and ideal climate year around.  This exercise space and rolling land are what makes the Bonnie Heath horses sound, confident, and take them to the winners’ circle.

Bonnie Heath, III &  Kim Heath

Bonnie was raised on the old farm, working, riding and playing on the property until responsibilities carried him elsewhere.  Although he was away from the farm, he kept involved in racing with Scott and Diane Dudley and with his love of handicapping; he never strayed too far from his roots.

Kim, as a horse crazy little girl, saved her lunch money for riding on the weekends.  The nearest horses to her Jacksonville suburb were a 45-minute drive.  Her attachment to all things horsey led her to jobs in the business while in college at University Of Florida, finally requiring her to relocate to Ocala in 1977.  Her experience in training, broodmares, yearlings, bloodstock sales, veterinary assistance, and stallions, set her up for her future at Bonnie Heath Farm.

Bonnie and Kim combined their experience in the Thoroughbred industry.

When Bonnie and Kim got together it was only natural to go forward with their passion for Thoroughbreds.  They kept busy with racing, and pinhooking yearlings to two year olds until the time they were asked by Mr. and Mrs. Bonnie Heath, Sr. to take over operations at Bonnie Heath Farm in 1991.  They turned the farm into a full service commercial operation, standing stallions, training, selling at auction, boarding, and foaling the family horses, and the horses of select clientele.
