MAD FLATTER TO DIAMOND B FARM

(January 17, 2013)

Diamond B Farm, LLC, in Mohrsville, Pa., announces the arrival of the stallion Mad Flatter.  The multiple G3 winner, and multiple G3 placed earner of $354,843 won 8 races and placed 6 times. Back-to-back winner of the Spend A Buck Stakes G-3, Mad Flatter won the 2010 edition by 6 ¼ lengths, earning a 104 Beyer in a spectacular performance.  In 2011, he won the Spend A Buck G-3 again by daylight.

By Flatter, out of Miss Pangea, by Honor Grades, Mad Flatter won from age two to six on dirt and synthetic, at four different racetracks, and at distances from 6 furlongs to 1-1/16th mile.  Early in his career, he showed the aptitude and promise to be on the Derby trail, but injury interrupted that dream.  He excelled in his comeback race, achieving a Ragozin 3 ¼.

“He seemed to prefer two turns and dirt, was good enough to place in the Washington Park G-3 at Arlington Park on an artificial surface at 1-3/16ths, beaten only ¾ length, and to win consecutive grade three Spend A Bucks without taking a deep breath”, said Bonnie Heath, co-owner and breeder.  “With his outstanding bone, size, conformation, and class, Mad Flatter offers breeders the speed, stamina, and versatility needed for tomorrow’s racing.  Kim and I are thrilled that he will be with Glenn and Becky Brok at Diamond B with his harem.”

“We’re taken with Mad Flatter’s size, substance, and balance,” said Glenn.  “He is such an athletic individual.  In the words of the great John Nerud of Tartan Farm fame, ‘Milers make the best stallions.’  Mad Flatter was an exceptional miler, with speed.  We are excited to add such an impressive racehorse to our roster.”

Mad Flatter has 2 crosses of Broodmare of the Year, Weekend Surprise, and is from the female family of the English filly Triple Crown winner, Oh So Sharp.  He also has 3 crosses of the female family of the great sire of sires, Nasrullah.   Many successful stallions, such as the brilliant sire A.P. Indy, have come from the Weekend Surprise/Lassie Dear female family.

Mad Flatter will stand for $2,500, Live Foal.  You can admire Mad Flatter along with the other Diamond B stallions at their Open House on February 10th.  For additional information, please contact Diamond B Farm at 610-659-2415, www.diamondbfarmpa.com.
